Back to 2 Denby Dale Village

3 150 Years Project

In the early 2020s new housing replaced what had been Denby Dale Undenominational Schools’ building, which had opened in 1874. During the work the builders discovered a broken bottle containing matted paper. They passed this find to the Denby Dale Community Library, which triggered a project for the Hands on History group to explore life in the locality in the 1870s. One objective of the project was to provide local history resources. Some of these are available in ‘hard copy’ for reference in the library. Most are also available here online, with the advantage that you can zoom in on particular images to see more detail.
