Gilthwaites First School

In 1976 Denby Dale School moved into new premises at the top of Gilthwaites Lane, with its new name Gilthwaites First School. This section contains photos illustrating the first 29 years’ history of the first school from its opening in 1976 to 2005 when the school’s second Headteacher, Tony Greenan, retired. These photos were collected by the school’s archivist, Pete Belsey, and were lent mainly by former staff, parents and pupils. Hard copies of most of the photos are held at the school.
